Shih Tzu Rescue Finding New Homes For Our Fur Babies

Letters to Shih Tzu Rescue

Hi Tammy,

I just ran across your email again and thought I would email you and update you on our lives.

Last week Abbey’s previous owner, Erling, died.  We went every week to visit him.  I think he looked forward to it and we ended up always visiting for over an hour because we always had to put abbey in Erling’s lap in the wheelchair and parade up and down the halls showing off his dog.  Abby 2I said they always looked like grand marshalls in a parade. He even had a picture of Abbey in his casket. We went to the funeral.  People from up at his home saw us an recognized the boys from their picture Erling had in his room and thanked us for adopting her. They always walked her when Erling was sick or tide up in Madison for treatment.  We talked a long time.

I don’t know if we told you but we changed Abbey’s name to Wrigley.  We have 3 Abbey’s in our family and the boys had a little trouble calling a dog that name of their cousins.  She adapted very quickly.  She is the perfect dog. She is the mascot for about every ball team in town.  We would walk to the boys’ practice and the practice would stop when we come because all the boys had to come say hi to Wrigley.

Our house seems made for her. Our windows and door windows come to about 1 1 2/ feet from the floor so she can just put her front 2 paw up on them and look out.  She loves the back door dog Hershey and whines when Hershey is outside and she isn’t.  She is so funny. She loves to play fetch w/ her animals.

The boys just lover her more every day.  They are very responsible with her and always willing to do something for her. She sleeps with any of us every night and has free reign of the house during the day.  She had a blast this summer w/the boys home every day.

We have a great group of friends that love her and will come walk/play and feed her if we are gone.

Here are a few pictures.  Thanks for letting us adopt her. She is a great addition for our family.

Lois,

Sasha is doing great, we found a veterinarian that is only 5 miles from the house (they came highly recommended by my neighbor) and we have already paid them a visit and given them her records.  It is all women and they do follow-up calls on her which I love.  Sasha is loving it here because she has a yard with a fence and she can go out in the morning and lay on the patio and enjoy the breeze.  She also has a basket on my bicycle and her and I take bicycle rides together (she loves it).  The neighbors think it's very funny.  I was blessed with her she has been an awesome addition to our family.  I am working two days a week for 5 hours a day so that is the only time she gets left alone and of course when I go shopping which I try to do on my way to and from work.

In Austin you can take your dogs almost anywhere with you.  So she has visited Home Depot and Lowes with me to purchase things, she just lays in the basket and rides.  You can even take them to a restaurant if they have a patio and the dogs can be on the patio with you.

I love being close to my daughter and my son is moving here in December from Taiwan so I am thrilled about that also.

God Bless You,
Linda

Hi Lois,

Just a quick check in to let you know how I am doing.

I'm doing "great!"

I went to see Debbie today for my first grooming.  Debbie said I was an awesome dog and that I have a wonderful disposition and she thinks I'm darling.  I was really good for her and she gave me a candy cane chew toy.
My sister Stephanie picked out a new Badger collar for me and a handsome blue coat to wear when I am outside going potty or taking a walk.  The coat even has reflective strips on it and a pocket to keep a treat in.  I like wearing it too it keeps me warm.

Just wanted to let you know that my new family loves me very much and they want to thank you for letting them adopt me!

Love,

Scooby

Lois,

Oreo wanted me to drop you a note to tell you she is going to be a star.  Pro Ex has requested to use Oreo for photo training and advertising here in Eagan.

Oreo went to the groomer yesterday and looks as cute as ever.  On the 14th she is going in for her first assignment.  Who would have thought that from this little rescue dog we adopted.

I will be there with her for the entire time we may even have some photos done with her and our Grandson.  I will send along pictures if I can.

Love from Gloria and Little Oreo
