Shih Tzu Rescue Finding New Homes For Our Fur Babies

Happy Endings

(Year 2007)

Paws
Cricket
Cricket
Paws tugging at our heart strings.
Cricket came to rescue a little over a year ago and was adopted but had to be returned to the rescue due to uncontrollable circumstances.  Crickets foster Mom welcomed him back into her home.  Cricket made himself comfortable, just like he had been on a long vacation and had now returned home.

His foster Mom just could not see him going to another home.  He had wormed himself right into the foster family and their hearts.  He has a fenced in yard to run in and canine buddies of all sizes to play with. Cricket is now home for good and as happy and content as can be.

Tucker
Tucker
Skittles
Skittles
Tucker was surrendered to rescue due to his owner not having enough time for him.  He loved everyone he met and you could tell by his tail, as it went 90 MPH.  He loved his toys so much it looked like a daycare in his foster home and he loved to play fetch.

Tucker has gone to his new home in central WI with a Mom who is home most of the time to dote on him and take him for several daily walks. The minute his new Mom met him she fell in love with him and knew he was the one for her.
Skittles is a 3 year old Shih Tzu/Poodle mix who came into rescue due to his owner moving into a "no pets allowed" living facility.  Skittles was shy and timid upon arriving in rescue but came out of his shell in time.

He is now a very, happy, playful, loving little boy who has gone to his new home in MN.  He now has a Mom and Dad, human sister, and another dog to keep him company.  All his family love to play with him in their fenced in yard.

Snickers
Snickers
Rhett
Rhett (Jack)
Snickers was a delightful little guy to have in rescue.  He enjoyed being around everyone, dogs, cats, kids and laying on foster Mom or Dad's lap at night during relaxed, TV time.

He had been surrendered to rescue along with companion dog (Skittles) due to his owner moving into a no pets allowed living facility. Snickers loved his walks and looked forward to them.

He now lives in MI with his new Mom and Dad and has a human sister and human brother who will play with him and keep him entertained.  He cuddled all of the way on the long drive home with the kids, and will be very much loved.

Rhett lived the first 4 years of his life in misery in an Amish puppy mill here in WI.  Luckily, someone was visiting there to look at available puppies when the owner asked them if they knew of someone who would be interested in taking Rhett since he was going to be destroyed, he was only 4 years of age.
Rhett is a beautiful little 11 lb. Shih Tzu who is very sweet and has the best temperament ever.

The people visiting there said they would take Rhett and brought him back to Wausau and called me.  When I picked up Rhett he was a very scared little guy, not knowing what was in store for him.  However, it did not take long and Rhett found out what the "good life" was all about.

He always had food and fresh water and someone to love him and hold him and not hurt him.  He learned how to play with toys and got to sleep on the "big bed" at night with his foster parents.

Rhett now lives in south central WI with his new Mom and Dad and a sister Shih Tzu and will never be ignored again. Rhett has been renamed Jack by his new parents.  Rhett will always hold a special place in his foster Mom's heart.  Dogs like him are what rescue is all about.  He has been given a second chance at a wonderful life.  Enjoy your new life Rhett; you are a very special little boy.

Lady
Lady
Bogie 2
Bogie 2
Lady originally came into rescue from a shelter in Central WI.  Lady's foster Mom fell in love with Lady's demeanor.  Lady showed to be a great companion and a mild mannered girl who really appreciated the fact that she was shown kindness, love, and attention.

Lady has since been adopted, and now has a Mom in northern WI who can spend almost 24/7 with her and they have become the best of buddies.  They needed each other and it has proven to be the best home for both Mom and dog.
Bogie came into rescue in June of 2006 after his human mom died of cancer and her family could not keep him.  It was a toss-up between rescue and being put to sleep, because Bogie was almost eleven years old.  Fortunately, for Bogie, they decided to let us try to place him in a home where he could retire.

Teddy
Teddy
Beethoven
Beethoven
Sweet, little Teddy has found a wonderful home in SE WI.   He has a new Mom, Dad, a human sister, brother, and a brother Shih Tzu who he lives with.  Teddy is just eating up all of the attention he is getting in his new home.   He and the human boy play Frisbee and ball every day and he gets to sleep on his human brother's bed at night and cuddle close to him.   Teddy has a fenced in yard that he can run and play in and is happy as can be.
Beethoven's nickname was "The Greeter" since he was so happy to see everyone he met.  When his new family came to meet him, he was so happy to see the two girls that he had kisses to give them both and his tail never stopped wagging.

He now lives in northern WI with his new Mom and Dad and two human sisters who keep him entertained with playing fetch and walks.  He also has a cat companion he lives with.

The day after he was adopted he even went to church with his new family after the Pastor said it was OK.  He did well in church except for a boring yawn which the whole congregation heard.  Beethoven is one happy little guy.

Gemini
Gemini (Gemmie)
Holly
Holly (Gizzy)
Gemini (Gemmie) came into rescue after her owner moved in to a no pets allowed living facility. Gemmie is a little 3 yr. old love bug, who is happy to play fetch with her toys and go for long walks.

She never made it up for adoption on Petfinder due to having an approved applicant before she even came into rescue. So she is now in her new home in central WI with her new Mom and Dad and playing with their 11 yr. old grandson who is visiting for the summer and having the time of her life.
Little Gizzy (Gizmo) is now in her new home in central WI with her new Mom and has a new name, Holly. She is being spoiled and loved like she should be.

Her Mom is retired so has a LOT of time to spend with Giz. In fact, Giz is going to be going on vacation very soon with her new Mom to the east coast.  She should love that as she loves to ride in the car. Another happy ending for a sweet little Tzu in need.

Pumpkin #2
Pumpkin #2
Trixie
Trixie
This little guy was rescued from a puppy mill in Central Wisconsin, sent to a shelter, adopted and returned to the shelter before he ended up in rescue.  At about four years old, Pumpkin is on the small side, but you wouldn't know it from the way he plays with the big dogs at the dog park!

Pumpkin was a sweet, friendly little guy and his foster mommy really enjoyed her time with him. He loves people, dogs, cats, and even birds!  Even his foster lab sister missed him a bit when he went to his forever home.  Pumpkin now lives with a lab brother and a human mom and dad in Central Wisconsin.

Trixie was a 1 yr. old owner surrender to rescue due to not having time for her.  Trixie was a very friendly, happy go lucky little girl.  Very playful and loved everyone she met.

She is now in her new home in Northeastern WI with her new Mom and Dad and a Shih Tzu brother.

Oscar
Oscar
Mo
Mo

Oscar came to our rescue as a stray. After removing all the mats and bathing him a few times, we found a very cheerful, happy guy. He lived for his walks and circled in delight when waking up in the morning and waiting to go for a walk. His tail was in constant wagging motion when people were near. His easy going personality made him loved by all - except the cat!

Oscar loves to roll around on his back and rub and would love for you to pet him for hours. His new family waited patiently to meet him and fell in love with him when they met him. His new home will be made in Central Wi with a 8 yr. old human brother to cuddle up next to at night!

This happy little guy came to our rescue after his owner of 6 years had to go to a nursing home and couldn't keep him anymore.  Mo is a joy to have around and loves everyone he meets.  He made good friends with his foster lab sister and foster cat sister, happy to snuggle on the couch with them and anyone else willing to sit with him for a while.  Although always willing to nap, he is also always ready to go for a walk or car ride, whatever his people friends are doing.

Mo now lives with his new Mom and Dad in eastern Wisconsin, who are retired and have lots of time to spend with him.  With children, grandchildren, and dog-cousins all visiting on weekends, Mo will always have someone to be friends with.

Maggie
Maggie
Abby
Abby
Maggie is a very shy, sweet little girl who we brought into rescue from a puppy mill in IL.  Poor Maggie had no idea what it was like to lay on a warm lap, get a pat with a hand or get a hug. But now she has all of that plus more. She has gone to her new home with an elderly gentleman who needed a little girl just like Maggie to love and call his "girlfriend” since his last "girlfriend" passed away and he was very lonely.  Maggie will be treated like the Princess she was meant to be.
This little gal warmed the hearts of many!  She came to her foster mom a bit shook up and afraid after her owner had to surrender her due to poor health and relocating to a nursing home.   She soon became acquainted with everyone and made herself at home.
She is a fast learner and soon obeyed the rules quickly about where to go potty.  Her outgoing friendly nature and comedic antics will endure her new family to her!  I know our cat will miss her dancing all around her!

Abby has found her forever home near Madison, WI with a great mom, dad, and two 11-year old boys who are so excited to have a new addition to the family!.

Annabelle
Annabelle

When her original owners had to move into a No Pets Allowed facility, little Annie was surrendered to our rescue.  Annie quickly made friends at her foster home and melted the hearts of everyone she met.  For such a small dog, Annie is very outgoing and loved to go for walks and play with her foster Lab sister, who is about 10 times her size.

She also loved napping with her foster cat sister.  After three weeks in foster care, Annie has found a new loving home in Eastern Wisconsin with new parents and a new Shih Tzu brother named Oscar.
