Shih Tzu Rescue Finding New Homes For Our Fur Babies

Happy Endings

(Year 2006)

Max in his new home
Max
It was a very Happy New Year for Smokey as he went to his adoptive home on New Years Day 2006. He went from being a stray and no one claiming him after a 1 month stay in a shelter to going to a loving home in west central WI with his new Mom and Dad and a sister Shih Tzu, Katie.   His new Mom and Dad renamed him Wilson.

His adoptive family loves him to death--he is a very happy guy for what he has been through. Smokey and his sister Katie play well together and will be great companions for each other.
So another Happy Ending thanks to Shih Tzu Rescue.

Max went to his new home in central WI, he has bonded very well with his new owner. She is a single gal with her own home. Max is of great comfort to his new owner and him to her.

When he came to visit his foster Mom the other day he was a little nervous about his new owner leaving him here, but now when he comes to visit he knows he will be going back home with his new Mom. He seems very happy in his new home and gets to go for rides daily and loves to ride in the truck.

He has met many new friends. It was great fostering Max and I am so glad he is close enough to visit me and my own dogs often. Sandy (Max's foster Mom)

Barkley
Barkley
Dexter
Dexter
It was a very Happy Day for Barkley when he was able to go to his new adoptive home in Eastern WI.  It is so hard for these little furry folk until they are able to settle into a permanent home; we found a good home for him and I know he will have a very happy life.

His new Mom and Dad are home most all of the time and he has the run of their house and I understand he is settling in very well. He is making his new parents very happy and lucky to have him, so he will have a very good life and we are all happy for that.

BF (Foster Mom)

Dexter’s mom was crestfallen, when she had to make the decision to surrender him in order to take employment that would keep her away from home for extended periods.  Similar to his previous owners, Dexter was not given up because of mistreatment but to enhance his quality of life.  His first family cherished Dexter & amongst other things took him to obedience training.   However, when they started fostering toddlers, Dexter didn’t appreciate pint size humans and ended up with another owner who eventually gave Dexter to his girlfriend, which was his mom until he came to rescue.

Buffy came from an Italian pet store where she was bought by a military family.  Buffy was later joined by Cricket, another Shih Tzu.  They were pushed in the background when a human baby joined the family in early fall of 2005.  Buffy and Cricket became nonexistent once the baby was born.  They started having accidents in the house because their owners no longer took the time to let them outside to potty.  Once coming into rescue they soon remembered that outside was the place to potty.

Dear little Prints lived up to his name and that he was, was a Prince.  He loved riding in the car with his foster Mom and Dad and cuddled up in his little bed on the long trip back to WI from Kansas where he had been surrendered to a shelter.

Prints was an exceptional little, loving boy, very mellow and laid back. He now lives in southern WI with his new Mom and Dad.  Who I am sure will give him all of the love he will want and need for the rest of his life; they were so patient and waited for the right little doggie to come into their life.

Prints it was wonderful having you here, your Foster Mom

Buster

DeeDee
DeeDee
My name is Buster and I came into rescue as a surrender.  My first mom had too much going on in her life to give me much attention.  Her work demanded extra long hours and her mom (my first Grandma) was also very sick so my first Mom had to make many emergency trips down south to visit her.  Also my big canine sister was very old and Mom said she had to be put down and I would have to live alone.  Mom knew that this was not the best situation for me so sadly she had to surrender me to Shih Tzu rescue.

I came to rescue and had a wonderful time in my foster home although my foster Mom took me to the vet way too many times as far as I was concerned.  Then a wonderful couple from WI came to meet me and adopted me and I now have a big canine sister again to keep me company.  Within a couple of days of going to my new home I found new laps to lay in, and new toys to play with.  I also get many walks during the day, which I love.

My tail is wagging,

Buster
Dee Dee has gone to her new home in Central WI.  Barb (her new Mom) fell in love with her the minute she saw her.  Barb was just waiting for the right little girl and I guess Dee Dee was it.

Dee Dee was so matted with sticks in her fur and had been kept outdoors on a leash, so for Dee Dee, coming into foster care was a relief for her to get in out of the rain and get cleaned up and sleep in a human bed where it was warm and cozy.

Barb and Lon (her new Mom and Dad) will make this little girl great parents and continue to love her and take care of her as she deserves.

Hampton Before Adoption
Hampton After Adoption
Sissy
Sissy
Laurie and Mark (Hampton's new owners) were looking for a dog to help keep Mark company while Laurie was at work.  Mark would be the stay at home Dad for Hampton.  Mark has a disability and when they found Hampton with his disability, they wanted to add him to their family.

Sissy was surrendered to Shih Tzu rescue from a family in northern Illinois.  She lost her elderly human parents, one after the other, and did not fit into the household of the son & daughter-in-law.

Sissy was a sad and lost little girl when she first came to her foster home, but gradually came out of her shell and began to demonstrate her sweet, quiet but cheerful personality.  She got along especially well with her foster brother, a Doberman, and they earned the Rocky & Bullwinkle designation, "Moose and Squirrel!"  Her favorite, though, was her Foster Daddy, who she would play squeaky bone with and meet at the door when he came home from work.

A wonderful semi-retired couple in South Eastern Wisconsin especially wanted to share their home and hearts with an older girl, and Sissy fit into their household from the first day.  She now has a real Forever Daddy and Mommy to care for her and take her everywhere!

Scooter came into rescue as a stray. It is hard to believe that no one came looking to claim this wonderful little boy.

Buster came into rescue due to his former Mom having to move into a senior living facility and they could not accommodate him. So with a heavy heart she surrendered him to rescue.

Buster says: I was a little depressed for a while.  However, I soon blossomed and loved to go for walks by the lake, where I had kids faces to wash and play with.  In too short of a time my new human parents came to adopt me and now I get even more walks, because my new Mom and Dad take me on lots of them.  Plus, I've got squirrels to chase out of the yard here.  It's also a lot busier for me because I have 2 people to keep an eye on now.  But, it's also double the blessings that I have 2 laps to sit on and 4 hands to pet me.  Plus they buy me new toys, too.  They really do love me and I love them.

Topper
Topper
Gin Gin
Gin Gin
Topper has found a loving home in central WI and is fitting in very well with his new canine brother Boo, a much bigger dog then him but they seemed to hit it off just fine.  He has also made friends with the cats of the house.

His favorite place to be is in the kitchen, in his new bed watching the Mom do her daily chores. Topper has not only a new Mom and Dad, but also a humane sister and brother to love him. I believe Topper will now live the life he deserves.

We are very sad to say that Gin Gin went to the Rainbow Bridge in early Oct. 2007, due to a brain tumor.  Bless her little heart. She knew love for the short time she was with her new family.

Gin Gin is a very, very sweet little girl who went to her furever home today. While in foster care she was such a love. She got along with everyone and anything she came in contact with.

She now lives in SE WI with her new Mom and Dad who were so anxious to take their new little girl home with them.

Montey
Montey
Snickers #2
Snickers #2 (Toby)
Montey went to his new home with his new Mom and what will be his best friend, Julian, a 12-year-old human brother. Julian and Montey have already started to bond, Montey sleeps with Julian every night on his bed.

Julian and his Mother have another dog in their family also by the name of Teddy.  Teddy is a Shih Tzu mix who will be Montey's canine brother. At this time Montey is settling in with his new family.

This household located in east central WI is just what Montey was looking for. May they all live happily ever after.

This sweet little guy was surrendered to rescue.  He is the happiest little guy that you ever will meet.  Snickers kept his foster Mom on her toes, with his puppy antics.  He was always full of energy and always happy and wanting to give kisses while his little tail never stopped wagging.

He now lives with his new Mom and Dad and a Yorkie/Shih Tzu sister who will play with him until they both flop from exhaustion.  His new Mom and Dad have renamed him Toby.

Rupert #2
Rupert #2
Mr. Chips
Chip
Rupert was a very, very scared little boy when he came into rescue. But after getting to his new foster home it didn't take long for him to settle in and know that he was safe.

Rupert has now gone to live in his new home with a Shih Tzu brother by the name of Buster and his new Mom. Rupert has a fenced in yard to play in with Buster and is getting to know that this is his forever home. The first night in his new home there was a thunderstorm and Rupert was scared but his new owner knew what to do. Rupert hid under the bed and she left him be but talked to him to ease his fear. The next day all was well.

The dogs are getting along fine, walking and playing together.  Rupert is going to love this new home and his new Mom already loves him.
Little Chip came into rescue from a shelter in WI.  We believe he was used as a breeder dog before being taken to the shelter. When he first arrived in rescue he would spin and chew, which are indications to us that he was crated for long periods of time and did that out of anxiety and boredom.

While he was in foster care he learned to be a part of his foster family and learned that there was more to life then living in a cage.  He was introduced to toys and found the comfort of furniture to lie down and nap on.  Chip now lives in northern WI with his new Mom and Dad and brother Shih Tzu, Thumper.

Updates from his new Mom are very positive and Chip seems to have found his new home where he will be loved and treated as a family pet instead of a throw away stuffed animal.

Murphy
Murphy
QT
Q T
This sweet little cutie came into rescue due to his past owner becoming ill and not being able to care for Murphy any longer.  Murphy has been a joy to have in foster care. He was such a smart little guy and caught on so fast to the goings on around his foster home on a daily basis.

He is now in a loving him in the Upper Peninsula of MI where he has a human Mom to spoil him and a Shih Tzu brother to play with him on a daily basis. Murphy’s new brother is teaching him a lot already, like how to get up on the back of the sofa and look out the window and watch what's going on in the neighborhood.  He enjoys walks on the leash daily with his new brother.

QT found the perfect home and is well on her way to becoming a very spoiled Shih Tzu. She came into rescue thin, dull coated, one eye, sickly looking, and scared to death. I could not even touch her; she would run away and cower. It took her a week to get to know that no one here would hurt her. She started to trust humans again.

Her new family was told that they need patience with her but only after a few days with them she has realized that this is her new forever family. Her new family is very happy with her. I thank people like them for giving this tender soul a wonderful home for the rest of her life.
Signed:  QT's foster Mom

Pepper2
Pepper #2 (Sasha)
Pepper came into rescue as owner surrender.  She was only a year and a half old and just the happiest, friendliest little girl you ever want to meet. She was such a good girl that she wasn't in her foster home long at all. She is now in her new home with a Mom and Dad who are spoiling her as she should be.

Her 2nd day in her new home she went shopping with her new Mom and got a new pink coat for the WI winter weather and she looks so adorable in it. Her new name is now Sasha and she seems to like her new name. New home, new name, new coat and all of the love and attention she needs, what more could this sweetie want?
